Re: pkg/53596: x11/tigervnc needs to build_depends x11/xtrans

I've been busy prepping NetBSD boxes to use onsite at an event this coming weekend, so I didn't think I would get back to this until next month. But I just ran into it again today after rebuilding a box from scratch to downgrade it from 8.0 to 7.2. While building packages I got the error again and saved out the complete output when you attempt to re-run make install after getting the error initially. Build log is attached. Also note this means the issue is still present in 7.2/i386.

This sounds like the problem is not that it's not there but that the
builtin version you have is too old for tigervnc. Otherwise it would
be complaining that the include files aren't found. Except that
apparently the one in 7.1 isn't too old.

What's the macro? Does it exist in the builtin copy of xtrans in
/usr/X11R7? Also, is the header file in question linked under
 /usr/pkg/share/x11-links?

And, does the problem go away if you rebuild x11-links?
