 That seems like a dead end...
 - Try the olddrm drivers - they're commented out in GENERIC (radeondrm*
   at drm?)
 - Open a separate bug report for why you're not using the newer DRMKMS
   drivers?
 - Use old Xorg/MesaLib in pkgsrc, or in netbsd base
