This appears to still be an issue, after about 10 months after the
initial report. I no longer have a way to test this build on an
i386 system but it continues to fail in precisely the same manner
under amd64 using pkg_comp with i386 sets. 

NetBSD tiamat 7.99.25 NetBSD 7.99.25 (GENERIC) #1: Thu Jan 21 12:29:41 EST 2016 

Both amd64 and i386 builds are using the identical sources

Any other thoughts on why this started failing to build circa fall 2014 or
how to fix it so it build once again?
