 Hm... the only other thing I notice is that the usage message is from
 our make, but the package has gmake in USE_TOOLS.
 
 It is possible that it's trying to invoke gmake but getting bsd make,
 and passing gmake options, and that's why it's dying, but I have no
 idea why.
 
 Do you have anything set in MFLAGS or MAKE_OPTS that might be leaking
 in?
 
 It works fine on my machine :(
