 Hello,

 1. Concerning PKGREVISION... reset to blank by removing it?

 2. For /usr/sfw... if "gas" is to be used, it appears (at least since
gcc 4x) that a recent binutils version should be used as is done in the
 "else" conditional
just afterwards in the current Makefile.

 3. For /usr/ccs ... extracted from https://www.illumos.org/issues/2727

Perhaps this change could be conditioned upon *-solaris2.11 or
 something...
Any particular suggestion? Myself, not really sure it is necessary.

Another possibility would be to use allow the user stipulate a builtin
 assembler preference
in mk.conf (perhaps the same for the link editor) and make the Makefile
 once and for all agnostic...

 cheers,
