>Release: NetBSD 6.99.13 (GENERIC) amd64
>Organization:
>Environment:
NetBSD 6.99.13 (GENERIC) amd64
>Description:
Install using pkgsrc current x11/alacarte as part of gnome on NetBSD 6.99.13
amd64, start gnome using startx where .xinitrc contains:
exec /usr/pkg/bin/gnome-session
then the Applications menu of gnome does not respond to mouse selection.
Uninstalling alacarte immediately fixes the problem on both Intel and AMD based
amd64 machines with Radeon 4xxx graphics cards.
As this problem was observed before the branch to pkgsrc-2012Q3 on the AMD
machine, it is possible this problem occurs in pkgsrc-2012Q3 as well.
ssh-ing into one of the machines and starting gnome with startx produced error
messages similar to those observed in
https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/alacarte/+bug/800215
>How-To-Repeat:
Install using pkgsrc current x11/alacarte as part of gnome on NetBSD 6.99.13
amd64, start gnome using startx where .xinitrc contains:
exec /usr/pkg/bin/gnome-session
then the Applications menu of gnome does not respond to mouse selection.
>Fix:
A temporary fix is to uninstall alacarte for now.
