I doubt if there would be an upstream patch.

Wine 1.0 was released in 2008. Since a dozen of newer versions have
been released, I'd rather expect patches on the latest stable version
(1.2.3) and /  or the latest development version (1.3.1.8).

If someone can test if Wine 1.2.3 compiles with libpng 1.5.2, that
will be great.
