 I totally agree.  Or at least on OSs known to support it well.
 
 For instance, currently I have the following custom global options in
 my /etc/mk.conf:
 
 PKG_DEFAULT_OPTIONS=-arts -esound -nas -aalib -pulseaudio -gnome mmx inet6
 
 Instead one would not have to add the inet6 global option there, and
 someone who doesn't want IPv6 support would use -inet6 above.
