 Er, right. Unfortunately, checking other dirs probably isn't helpful
 because if the same thing were going on, they wouldn't run either.
 
 Can you add
 
    BUILTIN_X11_TYPE.native?=foo
 
 before the place where it croaks, so you can actually run make, and
 see what BUILTIN_X11_VERSION.native comes out as, if anything?
 
 (sorry, I don't have a -4 machine these days to test on myself)
