On several of the affected systems, I recently removed all packages and
rebuilt everything from pkgsrc-2009Q3. 'cmake' built with no problems.

On one of them, I removed the previously-installed 'ncurses'. It was
then built as a dependency of 'cmake' and 'cmake' itself built with
 no problems.

The only other package that depended on 'ncurses' was 'wine', but I
don't recall when it was built in relation to the attempt at 'blender'
(which is what pulled in 'cmake').

Another machine seemed not to have a previous ncurses installed,
and that was built, followed by 'cmake' without any problems.

So, it looks like it was something to do with stale 'ncurses'.
