Yes, but ...

- is this really the way to go? Removing a working test from upstream 
and replacing it with a non-conditional inclusion of a non-portable 
function, and then surgically reinserting a workaround for one OS?

- now building the package fails with

nroff -Tascii -mandoc f2c.1 > f2c.cat1
nroff: Cannot find library -mandoc

Replacing nroff with gnroff (from pkgsrc) does not produce a usable 
manpage either.
