 Your proposal and my patch solve different problems, which happen to  
 exhibit the same symptom. I am trying to fix the curses dependency  
 issue (not specific to tnftp) on Interix, so that the native curses  
 library is used instead of the pkgsrc ncurses.
 
 The problem you pointed out also need to be fixed, and this PR will  
 remain open until it is resolved.
