 Oops.  I forgot all about this PR.  Unfortunately, for some months now,
 I've had no time to give to pkgsrc and it seems unlikely that this will
 change anytime soon.  I had to remove pkgsrc from my AIX system during a
 filesystem reorganization, and never had time to put it back, so I can't
 even re-test this.
 
 If it helps, I do remember the last thing that I figured out (and never
 made time to update to the PR) was that the problem wasn't specific to
 archivers/bzip2; it appeared to be happening to all packages that used
 libtool to build shared libraries.
