>Description:
The modularized version of xorg was known to cause problems on sparc64.
It actually does not require too many changes to work. I described the
steps in this e-mail:
http://mail-index.netbsd.org/port-sparc64/2008/01/06/0006.html
A patch is also necessary in VISmoveimage.s and ffb_asm.s in the
xf86-video-sunffb stock video driver, which is not included in pkgsrc
yet. This bug is also a kind request for its inclusion :)
Moreover, I have the impression that the xorg driver for sunffb also
lacks lots of acceleration code as opposed to the one from xsrc, even
though the changes are known to come from xorg. It could be that I mixed
something up while comparing, though I think it's worth checking.
I have ran xorg stable for four days now. I no longer have crashes when
using xchat with transparent background (uses MIT-SHM), but I still
haven't got mplayer to work again though.
Thanks!
>How-To-Repeat:
Install modular-xorg-server and xf86-video-sunffb on NetBSD/sparc64
>Fix:
Patches and procedure found in the e-mail listed above, and in xsrc.
>Unformatted:
modular-xorg-server-1.3.0.0nb3
