What output does running "bmake VARNAME=BUILDLINK_LDFLAGS.dl show-var" and
 "bmake VARNAME=DL_LDFLAGS show-var" in "pkgsrc/security/openssl"
 produce on your system?

If the first command prints "-dl" and the second one print nothing
please add "DL_LDFLAGS= ${BUILDLINK_LDFLAGS.dl} to "Makefile"
after ".include "../../mk/dlopen.buildlink3.mk" and try whether
 that fixes the problem.

        Kind regards
