Is that number metaphorical, or are there literally 10^12 files somewhere?
And where? On the FS, or in a single dir., or in some tree, or what?

I vaguely recollect a PR (or something) on the MLs where creating or deleting
millions of files at once under NetBSD hung the system, but, the same test
worked on FreeBSD and Linux. Can't locate that email at the mo'.
