Just on the offchance - do they have different firmware. We run a few
apu2 (and some old alix:) boxes and I seem to recall an issue that was
helped by a firmware update (sorry - it has been a while :)

The latest firmware is on https://pcengines.github.io and flashrom
from pkgsrc will work as "flashrom -w apu2_*.rom -p internal"

(Standard disclaimer, check you have the right firmware file, good
power supply and this is all at your own risk - we've updated six
without any bricks, but that still is at the level of "anecdote" :)
