Re: Windows 10 or 11 as guest on Netbsd/amd64 with nvmm + sound?
hello. I wrote a while ago I had audio working from Qemu guests on NetBSD-current/amd64
without any issues. However, what I've discovered is that if I want to run Windows 11, I need
to use the emulated Intel HD Audio driver in Qemu. While I have this working by having Qemu
use the oss library on the host side, the audio is choppy, but even worse, there is some kind
of timing issue such that audio on the guest plays back about 3X faster than real time. I'm
not sure what timer Qemu is using to render the audio, but it scales with the speed of Qemu's
execution in that if I run ktrace against the qemu process while the audio is playing on the
guest, it slows down to slower than real time. Yet, on the guest, sleep sleeps for the correct
amount of time.
Anyone have any ideas?
