You need to review that list and remove all files that were only
for MKDEBUGLIB=yes which you dropped (typically called lib*_g.a).

1871 is way too much for that, so something else must be going on.

That looks good, you install netbsd and keep netbsd.gdb around for
later kernel debugging (you only need it when you got a kernel crash
dump).
