Just a caveat: verify the cable too. Because if the maximum speed can
not be sustained, the speed reported is the actual speed and will not
reflect what the card is theoretically able to do---I was hit recently
by this, because cat5e are theoretically able to sustain 1Gb and
in the cable multitude there was a cat5 that was still lagging
there (but there are nodes with only 100Mb interfaces running old
software, so...).
