Apparently OpenBSD has a driver for the Ethernet controller.

RPi4 was a good choice as several  people here recommended to me time ago.

I’ve been running NetBSD-10 on an 8GB RPi4 for a quite a while now:

  6:16PM  up 416 days,  8:12, 6 users, load averages: 1.70, 2.04, 2.05

It’s been rock-solid, though it does struggle with some of the workload I'm throwing at it.

I have an RPi5 on order, and some spare time, though it’s been a while since I did any NetBSD kernel stuff. Maybe it’s time to change that.

Yes, It also works solid here. Very stable indeed.
Good luck with the kernel stuff, only an user here....
I also will buy one when NetBSD is a bit more mature in it.
