what network device to use?
My Internet provider upgraded their "optical" equipment so I could
support 500Mbps (and they said now it could potentially support up to
5000Mbps) and now it appears all of my devices except one are not
detecting it over the existing ethernet cable. No lights, no carrier.
My NetBSD 9.3 hardware is:
ppb1 at pci0 dev 28 function 2: vendor 8086 product 3a44 (rev. 0x00)
ppb1: PCI Express capability version 1 <Root Port of PCI-E Root Complex> x1 @ 2.5GT/s
pci2 at ppb1 bus 2

(Ignore the changed mac addresses.)
That USB device above also didn't work with Ubuntu Linux with this new
connection.
And my low-cost Gigabit Ethernet switch (which does support 1000baseT
full-duplex otherwise) also doesn't detect it (no lights).
This new connection works with my Eero 6+ device (which doesn't
appear to have any diagnostics to tell me what the connection is).
(Every speed test now using the eero is maxing out around 95 Mbps down
which is faster than I had before and up to around 80 Mbps which is also
faster. I will research more later but I'd hope to get better than 100
Mbps sometimes since my new plan is 500.)
How can I troubleshoot this with NetBSD?
Maybe I need a different driver, updated NetBSD system (but doesn't
explain why didn't work on Linux either), or new hardware?

Maybe there is something to enable.
By the way, with the old internet provider equipment all my devices
would only autoselect to 100baseTX full-duplex.
