ROTFL!!! My $deity! That's it!
As the Swedish idiom has it: "the first place where you go blind is your
eyes".
If I didn't already know, this would have told me why whe have the
four-eyes principle deployed at work. Unfortunately there is no second
pair of eyes available at home.
Thank you, esteemed sir, for being my remote second pair of eyes.
After correcting this, which LITERALLY is a one-bit error (ascii(v) -->
ascii(w)), it now works like a champ. Case closed.
