My old laptop (Compaq Pressario CQ71)), which always had a working X,
doesn't like the X in 10.0 RC1 at all.
The "intel" driver, which so far was always the one to use, now is
easily crashable from userland by an image viewer, by watching some
random images (I'm not sure if it actually depend on properties of the
image, or of the timing of showing them):

The "modesetting" driver just managed to show the traditional hatched X
background then the screen goes back to empty text mode with a cursor in
the home position.
