Re: MPV results
VLC on non-NetBSD machines sometimes operates this way (stuttering / freezing) so much so that I now use AnyDVD on Windows, which seems to have taken the VLC codebase and fixed lots of things.
As much as I hate the command-line inteface of MPV -- I am quite
convinced that it is superior to VLC, now...
