TCP Timestamp Vulnerability

McAffe’s Technical article KB78776  -

…Suggests that there is a low vulnerability issue with TCP Timestamps but disabling this could result in performance issues.

1.      Has there been any changes in NetBSD that would mitigate this issue? We are current.

2.      If the issue still exists, what’s the consensus on how this should be dealt with.

a.      Disable Timestamps and deal with potential performance issues?

                                                    i.     Is there a way to gauge how bad that could they be?

b.      Keep Timestamps enabled and consider the vulnerability minimal?

Looking for insight…Thanks
