Ditto.  Also many tools that I use as a musician were often only
available on Linux.  I am sure the same applies to other types of
artists as well.

I actually found LibreOffice pretty reasonable.

Of course.  I wouldn't run anything but BSD on my core servers.  Even
at home I run NetBSD on anything headless.
