success story -- SUN storage bay with RAIDframe

Hi there,

just to let you know that NetBSD 6.0.1/amd64 and RAIDframe runs great so far on a SUN Storage 7110 disk array system. It has been up for 31 days now and it should go into production in next weeks. The original system on this machine was "Fishworks" or something like "Sun Unified Storage System" but only the Oracle support has the USB stick to reinstall it from scratch and we don't have any contract for this machine, so I decided to run NetBSD on it. Here's the dmesg (yes, lots of disks, obiously, as it's a storage bay). Note that all the network interfaces are recognized by the kernel, even the supplementary card. This is some kind professional hardware and I am really glad to observe that NetBSD works very well on it. Best regards and many thanks to NetBSD as we finally managed to give a new birth to this machine without the help of the hardware and software manufacturer.

Never mind the parity errors which only occurred the raid initialization processes or during previous attempts, everything is fine now (got 4 raid arrays, all clean). raid2 is a stripping on the two previous raid arrays, so it's a RAID 50.
