Seems the same issue is discussed, but for smb mount earlier. I also see a
PR logged kern/45338 kern/9520 etc.

The issue seems old and wonder what kept even 6.0 from addressing it -
anything that makes it tough or just a matter of time.

In the meantime are there any workarounds for this?
