Re: VESA resolution in VirtualBox (amd64)

Hi Dmitry,

Sorry but I'm new in NetBSD.

I've done a fresh install in my VirtualBox (5.1, amd64).

To enable "vesa" command in boot menu, need I compile the kernel enabling genfb?

From the manpage:

genfb* at pci?
wsdisplay* at genfb?

Is it enough?

Will "make depends; make" generate a new boot loader's image?

Thank you,
DK

Hello,

You probably need to update an boot loader (be careful!):

cp -p /usr/mdec/boot /

At least I've done so to test vesa on my -current (amd64).

Hi,

Where is the vesa command in boot menu? How can I enable this?

I'm using NetBSD 5.1 amd64 as guest OS in VirtualBox (4.1.6). Even
compiling the kernel to use genfb I can't extend the console size.

I don't want to switch to i386 in order to use KVM/vesa driver.
