resetting /dev/sound?

Is there a way to reset /dev/sound?

I had to kill an application that was using /dev/sound, now any
attempt to open /dev/sound finds the device busy.

lsof /dev/sound

does not show anything.

I also tried drvctl, I can detach audio0, but then it won't reattach.

# drvctl -d audio0
# drvctl -r azalia0
# drvctl -l azalia0

I want to reset the device. Is there a way to do it (without rebooting
of course).

Thanks and best regards,

Marko
