pptp (poptop) configuration?

Hi,

Regarding my wish to set up vpn between an android phone and NetBSD,
I'm trying to get poptop working. I installed poptop from pkgsrc
on my NetBSD 4.0 router, tried to config it and started it up. When
the phone tries to connect, I get this in syslog:

Jul 23 01:01:34 ns pptpd[27925]: CTRL: Client 10.1.0.245 control connection
started
Jul 23 01:01:34 ns pptpd[27925]: CTRL: Starting call (launching pppd, opening
GRE)
Jul 23 01:01:34 ns pppd[16601]: pppd 2.4.4 started by jmarin, uid 0
Jul 23 01:01:34 ns pppd[16601]: Using interface ppp0
Jul 23 01:01:35 ns pppd[16601]: Connect: ppp0 <--> /dev/ttyp4
Jul 23 01:01:44 ns pptpd[27925]: CTRL: timeout waiting for first packet from
our pppd
Jul 23 01:02:15 ns pptpd[27925]: CTRL: EOF or bad error reading ctrl packet
length.
Jul 23 01:02:15 ns pptpd[27925]: CTRL: couldn't read packet header (exit)
Jul 23 01:02:15 ns pptpd[27925]: CTRL: CTRL read failed

The config files I'm using are basically the same as those on
http://poptop.sourceforge.net/dox/ (added ip addresses and stuff).

Is poptop supposed to work with the standard pppd...?

Thanks,

  -jm
