APM vs. powerd(8)?
All,
these days acpi has an apm compatibility front-end:
# ACPI devices
apm* at acpi? # ACPI apm emulation
But how about powerd(8) and pre-acpi i386 notebooks? Is powerd
supposed to replace apmd(8) on apm-only machines, or not? While
<http://archive.netbsd.se/?ml=netbsd-tech-kern&a=2005-01&t=608790>
seems to indicate intentions to do away with apmd, I am not sure
whether they ever materialised?
(I am trying to set up power management for a Thinkpad 380D, and not
quite sure how to proceed.)
