Re: MP NOACPI kernel

Hi,

I thought that I had this problem solved. I built a kernel with:
options MULTIPROCESSOR

and I uncommented:

options APM_NO_IDLE
options MPBIOSoptions MPBIOS

Then commented out all the ACPI stuff, but I left in:
ioapic* at mainbus?

Then the kernel will build. Now, the clock is running way too fast. I mean
if I run top, top refreshes every 2 seconds and it seems to have 15 to 30
seconds change in time for each refresh of top. It has been only running
for a few hours and it thinks it has been up for 4 days.

I will include my kernel config below. Does anyone have any ideas on what
would cause this?

Thanks,
Al

# Flags are used only with controllers that support DMA operations
# and mode settings (e.g. some pciide controllers)
# The lowest order four bits (rightmost digit) of the flags define the PIO
# mode to use, the next set of four bits the DMA mode and the third set
the

mode
# to use, and the last bit must be 1 for this setting to be used.
# For DMA and UDMA, 0xf (1111) means 'disable'.
