NIC timeouts since upgrade to 4.0

Hi there,

a while ago I did a fresh install of NetBSD 4.0 and since then my network interfaces stopped working properly. I have two cards installed in my system: a D-Link DFE-530TX (vr0), which worked well with NetBSD 3.1 and a NForce2 Network Controller (nfe0).

It seems the vr0 stopped working completely. While trying to configure it via dhclient (at boot) it keeps repeating "vr0: device timeout" and nothing more happens.

The nfe0 always prints "nfe0: watchdog timeout" twice (sometimes followed by "nfe0: tx v1 error 0x6001") and, after that, it seems to work fine (but it's annoying to wait about 20-30 seconds on every boot just for the network card to become ready).

I already tried to investigate this a bit. So far I have a kernel dump, created when the kernel entered the watchdog routine (don't know if this is of any use), which didn't tell me much except that the watchdog timer works and tried running a kernel with ACPI disabled (without success).

Does anybody have a solution for the problem or an idea where I could start looking?

Regards, Freddy
