How Big Can You Think?
Important:
- Unix system administration (FreeBSD, Linux, Solaris) experience.
- Understanding of fundamental networking/distributed computing environment
concepts
- Experience working in a 24x7 production environment supporting e-commerce
applications
- Working knowledge of HA strategies (RAID, clustering, etc)
- Experience with performance tuning/capacity planning of servers (hardware
and software levels).
- Working knowledge of Apache
- Ability to write Perl or shell scripts
- Experience with source code management tools (CVS/SVN, Perforce)
- Ability to automate server builds using jumpstart/kickstart
- Working knowledge of various MTAs (qmail, sendmail)
- Working knowledge of various systems security tools (ssh, tcp wrappers,
cops, tripwire, etc) with a demonstrated ability to implement them.
- Strong customer service, communication, and organizational skills,
ability to be highly productive in a fast-paced environment, and to work
independently.
- BS degree or equivalent relevant work experience
Helpful:
- 5+ years of Unix system administration (FreeBSD, Linux) experience.
- Project management experience
- Knowledge of MySQL and/or Oracle
- Knowledge of Java, XSL/XML, PHP
- Experience with high volume, large B2B or B2C e-commerce
environments
