Can you please describe in more detail what hardware (or virtualized)
platform you're running on?

Can you please share the output of:

1. dmesg (preferably, after you've booted with the `-vx' options)
2. sysctl kern.timecounter

3. crash (which is just a debugger, doesn't actually crash), and at the
   crash prompt, the commands:
   crash> x/d lapic_per_second
   crash> x/d lapic_tval
   crash> x/d lapic_hz


This sounds like the same clock calibration issue as reported earlier in:
PR kern/60467: timers and console keyboard driver broken with 32 GiB of RAM

The symptom also appeared in another way in:

But that is obviously not happening here, because the mechanism
underlying PR 59424 was tied to qemu/nvmm.
