 netbsd-9 shipped with GCC 7, which is EOL from upstream's
 POV, so there's unlikely to be any work done there.
 
 if it occurs with GCC 12 there might be a reason to file an
 upstream PR, but maybe it's already fixed.  the indent 
 checker in GCC 7 was pretty early and had some issues..
