 Maybe we could have a sysctl variable for an ld.so.conf library to
 override atomic_ops or membar_ops in armv4/5 userlands that are
 running on armv>=6 kernel?
 
 There's some prior art for this in sparc for v7/v8, in powerpc for an
 aligned version of libc string routines, and even in evbarm for
 libc_vfp.
