Both "gop 0" and "gop 5" work for me. Unfortunately, halfway through the boot process, the resolution changes to a larger resolution than what I have without using the "gop" command...

1. Was that with or without loading amdgpu?
Without. Not sure of the syntax for adding your suggestion to boot.cfg. I tried the following, but it doesn't seem to have and effect on the resolution:
menu=Boot AMDGPU:load=amdpgu;boot
2. Is this different from _not_ using the gop command?
The end result is the same, as the only gop setting that doesn't go down to 800x? is gop 3, which is 1024x768.
3. Does the boot continue when this happens? Can you get dmesg output
when it does this?
Yes, the boot continues after I add >boot. As to whether there is anything to find in dmesg, I will try to send you a new dmesg after I send this mail off.
