 I just had another build in a deep directory. NetBSD's "src" repo (GIT
 version) was updated beforehand (I checked that it contains your
 recent patch), but that didn't change the build. The resulting binary
 is the same as before, the ramdisk fails to assemble.
 
   To me it seems the larger size is caused by the long path names
 being pulled in through the _DIAGASSERT() macro in libc. With that in
 mind, I hoped the -DNDEBUG patch would "fix" that, but it seems libc
 isn't rebuild for the ramdisk. But I think that's exactly the only
 thing that'd make the binary smaller.
