>Organization:

>Environment:
System: NetBSD
Architecture: x86_64
Machine: amd64
>Description:

Booting the NetBSD/amd64 9.0 install image on a Dell PowerEdge R630
server from a USB flash drive, the bootloader and kernel load
successfully, but the kernel then fails to detect the flash drive or
any other USB devices. The console output ends with:

  [ 2.4139813] uhub0 at usb0: NetBSD (0000) xHCI root hub (0000), class 9/0, rev 3.00/1.00, addr 0

The full console output is at:

  http://www.gson.org/netbsd/bugs/r630/dmesg-9.0-usb3.txt

This is with the flash drive and a USB keyboard plugged into the rear
USB ports and USB 3 enabled in the BIOS. Disabling USB 3 does not help,
nor does disabling hyperthreading.

OpenBSD 6.6 and FreeBSD 12.1 install images also fail to boot with USB
related issues. A Debian 10.3.0 install image boots successfully.
