Re: kern/53420 (NetBSD-8.0_RC2-amd64-uefi-install.img can't boot on Pentium N4200)

Synopsis: NetBSD-8.0_RC2-amd64-uefi-install.img can't boot on Pentium N4200

State-Changed-From-To: open->feedback
State-Changed-By: maya%NetBSD.org@localhost
State-Changed-When: Tue, 03 Jul 2018 05:06:36 +0000
State-Changed-Why:
Can you try the following (I haven't tested it on an affected machine yet): https://ftp.netbsd.org/pub/NetBSD/misc/maya/netbsd8RC2-apl30

to test without a second netbsd machine:
boot with SMP disabled (drop to boot prompt, type 'boot -1', or use the boot menu option)
exit sysinst (^C)
connect to the internet (running 'dhcpcd' with no parameters is usually sufficient)
and type: ftp https://ftp.netbsd.org/pub/NetBSD/misc/maya/netbsd8RC2-apl30
mv /netbsd /onetbsd
mv netbsd8RC2-apl30 /netbsd
reboot, and don't disable SMP.
it should boot fine with all cores.
dmesg should print "APL30 erratum present, disabling MONITOR/MWAIT"
