That seems like it might be for a self-hosted build, but not cross-built.
I nuked the macppc/prep DESTDIR and OBJDIR and cleaned out powerpc tools
on my build host and rebuilt from scratch (since it is relatively fast).
Then I updated the macppc target.

I'd already done a 'make clean', so again, I was starting over from
scratch.

Yes, 'miniperl' built with the updated system doesn't segfault. The
build is still in progress at this time.
