The recently added MKCOMPAT for X11 significantly adds to build times and
release sizes. It is also pretty much useless on everything but mips64 right
now (at least for most users).

It would be great to have a separate knob (MKX11COMPAT ?) defaulting to off
and explicitly set to YES for mips64* on the autobuilds.
