>Description:
So today I started the NetBSD VM and I wanted to update the gnome pkgs,
I have issued 'pkg_delete -R gnome' and now after 30 minutes, it's still
working on updating the +REQUIRED_BY files of all related packages.
The last line is:
"Building list of packages that 'gnome-2.24.1.96" required
I find it unacceptable having to wait 30 minutes (or even more!) in
a Core 2 duo, for only this task, which should be done in 5 minutes max!
>How-To-Repeat:
pkg_delete -R gnome
or any other package with many direct/indirect dependencies.
>Fix:
I can suggest you the following:
1- Don't use pkg_delete -R.
2- Don't use pkg_install and pkgsrc.
3- Write another package manager that doesn't suck (as I'm doing).
4- Fix the bug 4 years later.
Am I being ironic? yes.
