Submitter can't test. Meanwhile, a lot of multiprocessor stuff has been
fixed since 2.0, including particularly a lot of interrupt routing and
related problems that are probably behind this issue. And since it may be
a BIOS problem with interrupt routing, testing on anything but the original
hardware isn't likely to be useful.
 
So, let's assume/pretend it's fixed; if the problem recurs or if anyone else
sees this, we can always reopen the PR, or make a new one.
