I have the same problem on NetBSD 4.0.1 with x11/modular-xorg-server and x11/xf86-video-ati (all from pkgsrc-2008Q3), the card is a: $ dmesg | grep Radeon ATI Technologies Radeon 7000/VE QY (VGA display) at pci1 dev 0 function 0 not configured I'm also using vesafb(4).
