Since we are getting close to the middle of the year, I wanted to put out a friendly reminder about the NetBSD Foundation's 2026 funding goals. I sent over an email earlier this year to help finish off the 2025 gap [ https://mail-index.netbsd.org/netbsd-users/2025/10/26/msg033327.html] , and it would be awesome if we could get the 2026 bar moving too!
Also we are seeing many good things coming up with GSoC 2026 https://blog.netbsd.org/tnf/entry/gsoc2026_welcome_contributors
especially I am looking forward to " Port the Enlightenment desktop environment to NetBSD [ https://summerofcode.withgoogle.com/programs/2026/projects/mifwPqCq ]
The project relies on us to keep the lights on. If you can spare a few dollars to celebrate the upcoming 11.0 release, I know it goes a long way.
