Does your Supermicro have a BMC? And if so, does its serial-over-LAN
have its own dedicated ethernet port? If it shares the host port, I have
heard that it can interfere in unwanted ways (but I don't know in what
ways exactly, so I don't know if what you are seeing can be as symptom).
